Ash - Framed Original

Meet Ash, the first piece in Katie’s music based collection Echoing A Coda. 

Echoing A Coda is an open ended portrait collection which captures the emotions created using the power of music. Each drawing is born from sound, exploring the ways that song can shape emotion, thoughts and desires transformed into human portraits. These aren’t just images of people, but echoes of feelings. 

Each portrait offers expressions and gestures that are intimate, empowering and raw. 

The collection draws from alternative, indie, shoegaze, metal, and rock music. By visualising the intimate pull of the music as it courses through my mind, the genres become invisible collaborators. 

Ultimately, Echoing A Coda is the visual symphony of lingering emotion and tension after the final note. 

With the commencement of the collection beginning in January 2026, the idea of an open ended collection means there will be no final piece.
Music is an escapism which will always be a constant within my life as an artist, therefore Echoing A Coda will also be a constant, a collection with portraits being created throughout my life time.
